Field Study is a selection of photographs and videos that examine the indelible relationship between humans and nature. To advance a culture of conservation in a variety of urban and regional settings, this group show investigates our current ecological reality as part of the 7th Annual Filter Photo Festival.

Walkabout

Led by radical ecologist Nance Klehm, participants observe and learn to identify the spontaneous and naturalized vegetation that occupy the cracks and escape our control revealing the dynamic resilience and healing that is under our feet. Urban foraged amuse-bouches will be shared following the walkabout at the gallery.

Artist Doug Fogelson and curator Allison Grant join together for an open interview, shedding light on Fogelson's experimental photographic techniques, his interest in ecology and devastation, and his plans for his year-long residency with Openlands.
